hah. well, i've noticed that there wasn't a classical music topic up here, and i just had to post one. i know a lot of you play instruments, and most of you have heard classical music before. so what's your general view of classical music, and who are you favorite composers/pieces.
to answer my own questions, being a piano and clarinet play myself, i've been living with classical music ever since i was very little. my parents exposed me to classical music as much as they could, and i thank them for it. i love all kinds of music, classical included. it'll always be a large part of my life. my favorite composers are beethoven, chopin, tchaikovsky, holst, and a lot more. |

Anything by Claude Debussy or Chopin. I swear, I could not live without their music. Right now I'm playing First Arabesque, and words cannot explain how beautiful that piece is. Chopin...I just love him. I love how much emotion and freedom there is, unlike the mechanical exactness of Bach and the concrete Sonata cycles of Classical composers.
I like a select Beethoven sonatas and symphonies and VERY LIMITED Bach pieces. Baroque is...not my forte. |
