window resizing issues, stuff moves when i resize window... |

so basically whenever i maximize my internet explorer window thing a bunch of stuff on the left side shifts around and sometimes overlaps, depending on where the scrollbar location is.
 i'd appreciate if anyone could tell me why that's happening and how to fix it...my guess is it has to do w/ the absolute location thing but i'm new at this and am far from having any expertise. my blog is at http://www.whitejello.blogspot.com

i used the position:absolute already, but the content on the left is in tables not div...would that make a difference if i changed it to div?
and also, what's a z-index? |
