when you see the confederate flag, what do you think it stands for?
some people see it as racist. which i can understand, concidering the southern states enslaved africans. but others see it as "heratage", which i don't really understand. that's like me toting the pennsylvainian flag. what also gets to me is how all the people i know who wave their confederate flags hate Osama bin-laden because of 9/11. my friend Jon the Two pointed out that there were 3,000 people killed on 9/11, and appx. 110,000 killed by the confederate states in the civil war. quite contredictory, if you ask me. eather way, what does the confederate flag stand for in the year 2005? |

Welcome to Texas. Welcome to the world I live in. Welcome to my 24/7/365 state of discomfort.
Where I'm from (Delaware) a rebel flag was synonomous with the klan or some neo-nazi movement. Here, it's "Southern Pride." Who am I to challenge someone's belief? But everytime I see the 'star and bars' I can't help but feel the disgust writhing and festering inside me. |
