I read this novel and was unimpressed and unaffected.

The book has an awesome cover describing the plight of a young girl that struggles within the foster home system, has a mother addicted to heroine, and a spooky almost stalker like fascination with the blues. Great premise that didnt carry out its mission. Personally I wouldnt recommend this book. It reminded me of a long winded speech with no climax or gusto. It simply ran on and on. Almost pointless, really. By stories end she still had unresolved issues and left the reader with lingering questions. Aside from this I was constantly correcting her dreadful grammar within the text. I understand the author was trying to capture the true dialect of the South but, all it did was carry a major annoyance. I couldnt help but decipher it and make sense of it in correct grammar, gave me a headache.

In fact if someone wants it im willing to mail it.
