I just bought myself a pair of hamsters a while ago, and while i was trying to put the male hamster in the cage he kept on jumping and jumping causing me to accidentally drop him (but only on the table) And when i tried picking him up again he BIT me! and now my right hand's ring fingers wrapped in a circle shaped band-aid.. so much for cute, cuddly and loving hamsters I wanted. am i one of the worse hamster owners?

I have a hamster.
First, I hamster-sat one on vacation. It didn't bite. I wanted hamsters for my birthday so my friend gave me her cousin's because she didn't want them. Without warning me, the hamsters BITE. You would literally BLEED when they bit you. They died a few months later. I bought a new hamster a couple weeks after. They were the same kind from the one that I hamster-sat. The one's my friend gave me were ugly and bit people. My hamster now does not bite. My advice is to let it go in the cage for a while to get it used to the cage and then pet it in the cage a little while after. And then you should start picking it up. If it drops, just pet it to let it know it's okay. And it makes a huge difference on what kinds they are, too. |
