I just bought myself a pair of hamsters a while ago, and while i was trying to put the male hamster in the cage he kept on jumping and jumping causing me to accidentally drop him (but only on the table) And when i tried picking him up again he BIT me! and now my right hand's ring fingers wrapped in a circle shaped band-aid.. so much for cute, cuddly and loving hamsters I wanted. am i one of the worse hamster owners?

Some people gets cute fluffy little pets and think great , as soon as we get home we'll be friends for life, he'll love being with me, they don't realise that friendships take time, especially with a giant.
If he bites you again, like when you pick him up or something, try just putting your hand in his cage, don't go towards him, let him come to you until he gets used to you and trusts you. I had a rat who was very nervy and nipped when she was picked up/her space was invaded, but I spent time with her and she got used to the idea that I wasn't going to hurt her. Remember - ignorance is the #1 killer of pets, think about it carefully before you get one |
