The spanish language is really starting to relate to todays world in everything.. im not sure if all that makes sense but.. life as we know it is starting to be influenced by other nations.. do you think that it is mandatory or neccesary to learn foreign languages in school? why..?

as far as mandatory goes, no, i don't think that it should be required to learn a second language during the course of your education, although most schools do require it anyways. however, i love spanish! my mom learned it in school and went on to get a masters in the language so i've grown up speaking it. i love the way it flows off your tongue and it's nice to get a touch of a different culture. my family travels a lot, so it comes in handy also. i think that children get a lot out of taking other languages in school, and it really exposes you to the outside world. but, i strongly think that it should be something you enjoy. i love spanish - the language and the culture - but if i didn't like it, i would not only dread going to class, but in no way would i be enthusiastic about speaking it. therefore, the fun is somewhat withdrawn from it and speaking the language becomes more of a chore than a hobby. learning to speak another language should be a positive experience for any and everyone who attempts to do so, hence it shouldn't be required in our systems of education.
