So in eighth grade, which is next year, we'll be able to go to Costa Rica during spring break for 12 days. I heard people talking about it and it seemed like the freakingg most amazing thing, with rafting in rapids, hiking on volcanos, seeing waterfalls, swimming, everything. And my mom won't let me go when I asked her. -_- Her reason was like, she saw movies where the setting was costa rica and in the movie, they had all these drug dealers and 'bad people' in costa rica. So that's why I can't go .... Eurghhhh freaking stupidest reason. And she's so freaking stubborn so I don't see how I can convince her to let me.

Are you going with your school? If you are you can maybe get around her by telling that you'll always be safe because you will be with an adult at all times and with all your friends. Explain to her that you do not do drugs and she knows that and it's not like the drug dealers are going to come up to a class and their teacher. Tell her you want to be able to experience a different way of life and you would love to do this. It means a lot to you. You could also say that your friends are going and their moms let them go so if she wanted she could talk it over with another mom and maybe they can convince her it's alright and a good experience for you.
i hope you are able to go. it sounds awesome. <3 |
