another year... another chance? Options

the guy i like this year happens to be the same guy i liked last year.

the thing is... last year, towards the end of spring semester, he started acting like a complete a-hole. i didn't know why... he just did.

this year, it seems all different. he's so nice and sweet and it's like he's a completely different person. my friends keep telling me that i have a really good chance with him. i asked him in the beginning of the year if he ever heard a rumor that i liked him last year, and he said "no".

that turned out to be a lie. his friend told me that he knew ever since after spring break... and i believe him.

so... last year, i liked him, he found out, and he started being a complete ass.

this year... i like him again... he doesn't know. he hasn't changed, i haven't changed... do you think if he finds out, he'll act like an idiot again? that's probably a sign that he doesn't like me at all. should i just give up completely on him?

i don't know. i've had many friends who i ended up liking a lot, and because i am kind of a tomboy although its fading, i hang out with guys much more than girls at school. There is a group of boys who i am very good friends with and i've liked two people (and still like one of them) from that group. both times, since i'm friends with them, people ended up spreading rumors that i liked the person because i would hang out with them a lot or all the time at school for a while. i'm not sure if they ever believed it or not but they never really treated me differently, only one of them was a complete a-hole at the BEGINNING of this year, not when the rumors started, and shortly after that i stopped liking him and started liking another friend. There are even more rumors about us around, and this time its both ways, not just me liking the guy. he doesn't treat me any differently, in fact he and i have become better friends since the rumors started and i am considering asking him out.

however back to the point. if the guy hears that you like him and starts being an a-hole again, just move on to another guy. he's not worth the time moping over.
