do tampons hurt when you use them or like the first time?im 14 and use pads because i am scared of them. people say you can die from them or get tss or something .. but is 14 to young for tampons?

i have no clue im kinda scared to use them...but alot of people say its better when doing any special activities..etc... but i rather stick with pads for now
