I'm not sure of this belongs here, and if not I'm sorry!
 but does anyone know why you can't delete posts? I was on a board with the same format as this, almost exactly, and you could delete posts. So why can't you here?

It's a very good thing you aren't allowed to delete your posts. It would CREATE chaos.
If you could delete your posts: Good: 1. You can destroy your double posts. Bad: 1. You can wreak havoc on the cB timeline. Suppose there is a chain of posts, and your post is right smack in the middle. If you deleted it, the thread would be very confusing (in cases) to the reader. 2. Like what Fae said above, it's to keep you from taking back what you said. 3. Mods are discouraged to delete posts, because it deletes the evidence. It goes the same for members. All in all, it is better that you can't delete. Be VERY VERY happy that you can EDIT! I have been in forums where u can't edit, and it SUCKS! |
