eating shark fins, humane or not? Options

i was wondering about this topic, however, i am kinda neutral about shark fins though.

If no human ate meat, some species of animals would overpopulate the Earth. But that's a whole other debate.

As would man. With an abundance of nutrients in our bodies, me and women would become both more fertile and more sterile.

I apologize for being the assumed 'tree-huggin hippie' by posing this argument but allowing certain species of animals to roam the earth isn't something I'm opposed to. I'm much more against the senseless mass murder of steers than I am those same steers walking around the plains of Texas, minding their own business.

With the sermon, I was simply supporting the statement with esoteric that certain people can relate to. See, I don't think it's just a shark. To you, maybe. To me, its a representation of what we've (broad generalization) become as inhumane human beings. So its ok to do such a thing to shark just for fins that, apparently, do taste good?

ItzOnlySydney- Such an insightful response! I'm not saying eating meat is bad or wrong, however, the way in which the meat is obtained is just morally wrong.
