There was no off switch so the only way to keep it quiet was to wrap it in a blanket and keep it in a dark closet. Eventually it would still sense some light and you'd hear the desperate, muffled Furbish screaming. Maybe they've added an off switch for the non-sadists. I used to love my furby, but by the time i had it for about 3 months it annoyed me so i put it in my closet. gosh what are they doing to the new generation of childeren!?!?!
