do you think i just got myself into a big episode of drama by going out with a senior [my first boyfriend] who is basically my best friend? he is going to college next year and i said, one day you're going to jail. and he said why? and i said for breaking my heart. and he said when will i break your heart. and i said when you leave for college. and he said well i hope that day where i break your heart never comes. and i said, me neither.
has anyone had a boyfriend who is a senior [i'm a junior] and got their hearts ripped out because of college. i mean we hang out more than anyone i know, i just think college.. will i dont know, break us up. maybe i am overreacting? |

QUOTE(linke3 @ Mar 23 2005, 12:06 AM) Yeah, I'm a junior and my boyfriend's a senior. But if your relationship is a serious one, then you'll get through that one year. My boyfriend only applied to colleges in the state and city to be closer to me (!), so that's how we're going to deal. Just talk to him about colleges if you're really afraid about that. And besides, next year you can apply to the same college he's at. If you two are hanging out as often as it's sounding like you two are a little distant and space can help the relationship. Through the experience and the stories I've been told; people tend to get tired, bored to be exact, with their significant other after spending too much time together. People often forget that they once had a live of their own before that special someone came along. Just because they're here now doesn't mean you still can't. If this doesn't work out, you'll live. In all reality high school relationships usually don't. College is the time where you really start to experience new things and meet new people. People often mistaken their high school relationships for the real thing and they are set on that. You have to keep in mind there are so much more growing that hasn't happened yet. Temptation that some aren't strong enough to deny. AND, that suggestion of applying to the same college as him. I don't recommend that, simply because if things don't work out you'll be stuck at the college that wasn't really fit for you. Choosing a college should be a solo choice. |
