I read this a few days ago. Love it. I usually wouldn't have the patience to reatd something so long, but this was a really good story. Didn't make me cry, but it did make me sad. Even though I'm not Korean, I did understand what they meant by dongsang, oppa, etc. It's just common sense you need and context clues and such, but I guess it does take a little bit of "Asian" language understanding. Like in Viet they call older brothers "Anh" and younger brothers/sisters "Em" and older sisters "Chi" and etc.
