god, a woman???, what do you think? Options

in speech class today, we learned about people getting offended when someone would say something like "POLICE MAN OR FIREMAN OR BUSBOY, etc. and one other thing she mentioned was god. apparently, women were getting upset because the bible called god a man. so they are now changing some bibles to make the word "HE" (referring to god) to "HE/SHE". what do you think about that?

Uh that holds no logic. Especially if you knew about the Christian faith. First off, God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one; a trinity. And God is not the one who impregnated Mary, Joseph did. Therefore with your so called logic you would be able to say that Joseph was a man but not that God was a man. In the first book of the bible (Genesis) you can infer that God is a man because it says he created Adam out of his own image and only created a woman (Eve) because Adam needed a companion and that Eve was created from Adam. Despite these inferences, no one really can say whether God is a man or a woman for sure but I think it's completely ludicrous to want to change the bible to say "he/she". It's been he forever and most scholars would probably have to say that yes, God is a man, so what's the point? Who cares if it's more politically correct or if some feminists are getting offended? That's just like saying let's change all the pictures of Jesus because it shows him as a white man and all the Asians are getting angry about it. Or something like that. Anyway, I also think I remember learning that God really isn't a specific gender or race but I have no real evidence to back that up, but I just wanted to say it.
