It's been 4 months since my ex bf broke it off with me...and we haven't had any contact with each other since then.
But...yesterday being my birthday, he messaged me and said happy birthday to me...does this mean anything? Added to the fact that I didn't expect him to remember my birthday, least of all say Happy Birthday to me. Does it mean that he still wants to be friends with me...or does it just mean that he was being nice? (Note: when he broke up with me, he did say that maybe we can be friends one day...) Or am I thinking too much on this? Any opinions greatly appreciated.

i think you are reading too far into this.
he obviously cares about you as a friend or else he wouldnt say hapy birthday but thats probably it. just be happy and move on |
