That was a good book. lol i read it for fun, how much of a dork am i?? I never saw him as a failure. He was confused yeah, but he never was a failure. The whole book he is basically running away, but at the end he stays because of his sister. You could say he was a failure because he got outta school, but i think that is stupid. It's not about what he did, it was about his character. He thought he was a failure more then anyone else did in the book. He couldn't help his family or sister, he couldn't help that girl he liked, so he saw himself as a failure. but he wasn't, he just was confused and it wasn't even his job in the first place to fix everything. He was a very smart kid, really knew what he was talking about..he just had a difficult life. lol, ah i can't really explain, i read the book too long ago, you should go read the book for your assignment lol
