In my opinion, the dreamcast controller was the best. Ingenious button placement, great way to integrate memory card and multiple expansion slots were great. The SNES controller gets a close second.

N64 was good in that it offered a joystick =D a little big, but usuable I think

Rumble pak was a great innovation. QUOTE This may surprise u, but i really like the Xbox controller (original One) people complained that it was too big. But i thought it was perfect, and fit me just right. Plus i have really really small hands too. 2nd would have to be the ps2 dualshock, that fits me as well. XBOX Controller was the worst. Too many buttons, poor placement, useless enormous logo and a lame copy of the dreamcast controller. the playstation controllers are ok, but they are bad for one reason: they are not intuitive at all. there is a bit of a learning curve with each game, because their placement doesn't force the developers to follow a standard. The gamecube controller has color coded buttons, different shaped buttons, which means controls are similar from one game to the next. Same goes with n64 and dreamcast controller. With those controllers, I didn't even have to read the manual to start playing. With the xbox/playstation controller, I need to devote 10 minutes to mastering the controls. |
