I know this is a really really sensitive issue, and i do want to approach it in a way that will give me an understanding, and help. if people find this offensive, please note that i am in no way trying to be. i just need some insight.

there's a problem in my hall with the students. I am in the RA in the hall, and it seemed to work out that all the african american students were put into one hallway (i still think my director did this on purpose, because i think she's a racist)

well, anyway, things were going good in the begining of the year, until i had to write a student up for a noise violation. then the girls started to be mean.

they call not only me, but all white ppl "crackers" when they walk down the hall. They yell and scream all hours of the night and day. whenever i ask them to please quiet down (it is midterm week) Ok, the major thing is when I had to write someone up for alcohol (they were underage) they started to fight with me, saying i was writing them up because they were black. i've even seen them pick on a girl who was half white, half black, calling her a traitor, and she was not really black.

let me state i am not racist in the least. my aunt is black, and i'm friends with all sorts of ppl, male and female, from different countries. i know ppl from kosovo, guinea, middle east, etc.

it just seems that these girls are acting in a group, trying to intimidate everyone. why would they bring up such an issue as race, and try to make it a problem.

i just thought maybe someone has gone through this before. i tried to tell my director, but she says "we don't need lawyers in here." this was after an african american student beat up a girl because she tried to ask this girl why she didn't like her for 'being white'. the girl got off free.

I'm sorry you have do deal with stuff like that. I know how it is to be in the middle, because I'm only half black, so people used to call me a traitor like u said they did that one girl. Its really hard too. Because you are raised not to judge against the people who judge you. I think the best thing you can do is keep on doing what you are doing. You arent being racist at all. Black people do that. while people do that. Asian people do it. We all do it at some time I'm sure. That just makes the people who are partial to themselves ignorant and small minded. Theres nothing you can do to fix that. So many blakc people are raised to have a chip on their sholder. This idea that the white man is out to get them. SO they band together on their own. ButI do think you sould report the woman who segregated these girls in the first place. Also, since you are an RA, you might try having a meeting with the girls to explain where you are coing form. And if they did try to take it to court, you will 100% justified in that ticket you wrote up for underage possecion, and the judge will see that and dismiss it. But I think its really important that you report the woman who is ignoring you about this issue, because thats no way to handle it at all. so I would go to higher administration (dean perhaps?) and try to explain whats going on. Because that is just wrong. But you seem like you have a great head on your sholders and its good to see that you arent being shallow and judgemental about the whole thing. Lord knows you could have been like "and those stupid ghetto bitches always makes so much noise" and be bitter about it. So yay for you and good luck.
