do you feel obligated to marry one race or another?
like if you were half korean and half white do your parents pressure you to marry either or? or one of those races (ex. only korean) my dad told me a few days ago i was 1/16 native american (cherokee pride!) and he said he'd appreciate it if i married another native american prefferably(sp?) cherokee. is this happening to anyone else?

yah i kinda did before... since i live with a korean mother and a korean stepfather... GUESS what type of race they wanted me to marry? lol... but honestly since my sister is gonna marry a mexican guy their preferences have widened a bit more... i know it sounds so racist but they just dont want me to marry anyone black... which im totally NOT gonna listen to if i fall in love with one... but thats just my parents
sometimes it sucks to be mixed though... like when i take my SATs i have to just choose ONE of my races when im proud of both. plus i cant ever marry a full korean guy cus the prefer full korean girls... it may have changed now but not by much... and i dont know... i cant really relate with many full korean people since im not FULL like them... i do have two great friends that are full... lol but they are americanized... and with my hispanic friends i feel like im the asian one in the group... hehe its weird. sorry ive been babbling... i had to get that out >.< |
