i heard last night that the supreme court made a new ruling that minors that commit a crime cannot be sentenced to the death penalty. it is effecting 19 states. (i think). i, personally, think that is not right. their age has nothing to do with wheter they should get the penalty or not. because of this new ruling, 9 criminals are going to be free men (in texas).
 one of the men that is going to be set free is a man that car-jacked a touring couple, made them drive out into the country begging for their lives, rapped the wife in front of her husband, then killed her before killing him.  --- what do you think of this? |

We had this debate in our Civics class..
I think..that instead of setting them free, or in fact, putting them in prison, we should send them to a reformatory, or some place that encourages good behavior, you know? Like..I wish they would do some boot camp for people who have committed crimes so they could go through physical as well as emotional pain..instead of getting shut up in a prison wall..you know? We should work more on PREVENTION. Not PUNISHMENT. And yeah. I'm a liberal activist. lol.
