I like Rap music.. though if my mom heard some of the lyrics she would never let me listen to it again ^^
Anyways, I've recently noticed that EVERYONE is into punk, rock, and emo music. ((Which I love all of those as well.. then again I love mostly everything except country.. eww..)) Anyone like Rap.. at all? This is kind of random.. but I'm just curiouse..

Most mainstream artists have so little or no talent whatsoever that they have to talk about sex, women, gangsta shit, money, etc. to sell records because for some reason, thats what the listeners like to hear. Artists such as these give the name of rap music a beating. Rap, just like any other form of music or art, does have a point, does have a meaning, and does take talent. Unfortunately, you have to search for it.
My point? Don't form opinions of rap music based on what is mainstream because this does not represent the essense of rap music. You can not fully appreciate it if you don't know who the good artists are. Those who follow rap or hiphop music know what I'm talking about. For those of you who don't and are interested, try Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Royce Da 5'9, De La Soul, The Roots, etc. |
