Okay just wondering how many of you girls have had an eating disorder in the past. I know it's growing. If you have, What kind was it? How long did it last? I haven't had one before. But I know a lot of friends have had one.
PS- Sorry if there was already a topic like this, i couldn't find it ![]() |

PLEASE READ
Look, I dont think a lot of you reaise there is more to eating disorders than starving your self. I mean, an eating disorder is described by any extreme eating habits. Like fear of eating and gaining any weight (anorezia) then people who stuff them selves full of food then make themselves throw up (bulemia) and there there are emotional eaters, or people who eat whenever they are upset, whether physically with themselves, or because of stress or whatever. Theres alos eating disorders that arent defined by a name, but still considered a disorder...I like obsessive dieting ie today I'm staring a diet when I eat nothing but oranges and greapfruit juice. Then a week later its today I'm eating nothing but bread and water. They jump from one diet to the other, continuously giving up and finding failure. there are exercise addicts, the people who exercise to burn more than about 1000 calories a day, and/or people who eat minimal calories (lets say, 750 a day) and then burn more than that, so basically they are depriving there bodies of everything. There are fasters, people who dont continuously starve themselves, but do a fast, like only water for 30 days. <---that can be good for your body and everything, but these people do it all the time. Its always a new fast. So yeah. But whenever food controls one or more aspects of your life (aside from keeping you alive) it is a disorder. trust me, I would know. I suffer from lots of those all the time. The only ones I never really had a problem with was anorexia and bulimia. I just used to fast like one week out of every month. then I would limit my calorie intake to below 700 cals a day...I would plan out my food for the week, having different cals and foods allowed for every day. It I screwed up, I had to take off one thing for the next day. And I would always fail and eat too much, and end up hating myself later. But, I kinda have t live with that. Thats the type of person I am. I dont strive for perfection, and I dont LIKE depriving myself, but I always feel huge (all of my friends are like, size 4 or smaller) cuz I'm a size ten, and I'm just tired of being bigger than everyone else. I gotta work on it, and its a lot better. But remember, a lot of you are in the prime age when eating disorders start. so many of you worship Paris Hilton, and will want to be like that, and start going down extremem paths. Please take care of yourself. And to all of those that dont have eating problems, good for you. Be healthy everybidy!! |
