1 cup vegetable margarine (250 ml)
1 cup granulated sugar (250 ml) 4 eggs 1/4 tsp. vanilla (2 ml) 1/2 tsp. almond flavouring (3 ml) 3-1/4 cups flour (810 ml) 1 tsp. baking powder (5 ml) 1/4 tsp. salt (1 ml) Pink coloured sugar (or red whatever u want/find) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C). Have a lightly greased cookie sheet set aside. In a large bowl, cream margarine. Gradually add sugar, beating until light. Beat in eggs, one at a time until fluffy after each addition. Stir in vanilla and almond flavouring. In another bowl, blend flour, baking powder and salt together. Stir into the egg mixture. Place in fridge and chill dough for 30 minutes. Remove from fridge and place on a lightly floured board. Roll dough into 1/8 inch thickness. With a heart cookie cutter, cut out cookies and carefully place them on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with about 1/3 tsp. of pink coloured sugar. Bake for about 11 to 12 minutes. Cool on racks. Enjoy! |
