okay, yeah, pardon me for being so asian and mindy-like but... which colleges are all of you aspiring to attend and more importantly, why do you want to attend those specific colleges? just trying to figure out what exactly motivates teens toward their proclaimed "dream schools."
edit: seems like a lot of people in our generation are planning to pursue careers in law.. what attracted you guys to the profession? in fact, whatever field you might want to enter, what attracted you to that field? |

i think that if you are intelligent enough to go to the ivies, have the drive, know what you're getting yourself into, and are willing to be committed to staying for all 4 years and working hard at it, then you should go. just because you're smart enough doesn't mean you have to go. my friend is one of the smartest people i know [and believe me, he tells math jokes. he's a math nerd, and he finished calculus in freshman year] and he chose not to go to an ivy league because he got a full scholarship to another school that was also an extremely good school. okay, sorry, just pointing out that the ivies are not the way to go if it's just for the name, but if you truly want to go, then that's good.
i got into illinois [urbana-champaign] and i got some scholarship money there, so i have an 80% chance of going there. originally i wanted to go to UNC chapel hill but it's extremely hard to get in, especially for out of state students, and i didn't get in, so it looks like i'm going to illinois =] i'm excited =) |
