If I'm making a banner, how do I put like a transparent rectangle with words on it like so< where it says 'ms toni ft. killa cam...'

Use the select tool (the one that looks like a dotted-line rectangle), and make the shape. Then, using the fill tool (the paintbucket), choose the color, but on options, set it to like 50 opacity (or to any opacity you think looks best).
