Running is a sport, am I correct?
Okay, I have to run the mile every Thursday for P.E.. I always get really bad times (from 12:30 - 14:00). It's because whenever I'm running, my sides, shoulders, AND throat start to hurt. I'm always so far behind everyone else. Is there any way of preventing these aches? My friend runs the mile like it's nothing. Her sides never hurt or anything. She runs the whole way. I want to be able to do that so bad! |

I had the same problems, sort of. My sides would hurt and sometimes I would get a dry throat. Don't breathe through your mouth. Breathe through you nose. Breathing through your nose would keep your sides from hurting and getting a sore throat. It helped me so I think it would help you. And pace yourself. At the beginning run slowly but not too slow and keep that pace throughout the mile. At the end, sprint. If your about to stop, keep in mind that you will make it. Sprint as fast as you can.
