Um. Hi. This is the first time someone in my family has been pretty sick like this, but I just wanted to let you guys know that my brother, my only brother, is very ill.
This is hard for me because I've never seen him so..well. So weak, and so tired looking. He just came back from the doctor and supposedly his whole body is sick. His kidneys are weak, and something is infecting his liver or is about to.
He has to take this stupid medicine that's risking the chance of messing up his heart. This has never happened to anyone in my family that I've known.
It's even hard for me to type this right now. And no. I'm not doing this for attention or anything but you guys..please pray for my brother. I would just be so heartbroken if I lost him. I don't even like to think about that, but..yah.

Anyway. Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

My dad and grandma aren't as sick as you but it isn't confirmed yet so i guess no to your questions. Best wishes with your brother, for now just help out around to his needs and keep a smile on.. I'm sure your brother wouldn't want you to be unhappy. And I'll pray with you.

i did stop swallowing for 6 weeks...it turned out that i had severe acid reflux all my life and didnt know it...and finally it ate away at my esophagus until I couldnt swallow. so i basically lived on an all liquid diet, and lost like 30 lbs...when i was already pretty thin. and anyways, the medicine i took is now illegal because if the dosage is 5 mL off it can kill you.

thats nothing as severe as whats happening to your brother. I really hope that he gets better.

First, i would like to just say keep your spirits up, and keep your brother optimistic; it's the best thing you can do for yourself, and him.

The immune system is closely connected to how the person is feeling mentally also. A depressed person gets sick more than a happy person.

As for my experience with sickness, cant say anyone in my family has gotten that sick.

I am so sorry to hear that. I know how you feel.

Last year in March, my uncle got a heartattack; then last year in june, when my dad went to china, he got a heart attack too. Now my other uncle is in the hospital. He will die if someone doesnt donate a kidney to him. It can only be from a blood relative, and so far, the only person to have the same kidney as my uncle is not a blood relative.

Well. First it started out as Mono. [Stfu. I know.] And then it like..got REALLY SUPER bad or something.
Oh. It was horrible. He had to break up with his gf of like. A year, and she was just crying. I really liked her too.
But yah. He's all..puffy with fever.

I'm sooo sorry. When I was 13, my brother had to go to the hospital and get surgery because I guess his intestine was leaking out all these poisons into his body and it was horrible. He missed like 3 weeks of school and my Bat Mitzvah.
I hope your brother gets better, and just keep wishing for the best and stay optimistic. Being happy is the best medicine, because my mom's cousin got diagnosed with lung cancer and when I went up to visit her, she was only supposed to have 3 days to live. Well, that was 8 weeks ago and she's still alive because she's really happy about her life.
I'll keep him in my prayers.

but i am very sorry to hear about your brother. & yes, this happened to my family about 5 months ago with my grandpma. he obtained cancer & the doctors told us that he about 4 months to live. he died 2 weeks later.

but he now has a dent in his head, caz half his skull is gone. it's really sad to see him like that, esp. when he used to be those very talkative kinda guy, now he just sits on a wheelchair.

oh. *awkward silence* i don't know anyone that has ever died well except for my cousin's grandma but uh, she died of old age and i didn't really know her so yeah. but good luck to your brother. if he dies, then i give you my sympathies, but death is a part of nature, if he dies, then it was meant to be and nothing could've stopped it from happening. you can only learn to move on and not live in misery upon his death. live as if you are to die tomorrow and enjoy everything you have now, for you never know what may happen. but if he is to live, then i congradulate you for such a miracle. i do not pray so i will not lie and say i will because i will not simply pray because someone is dying, if i was to pray each time someone died or because i wanted problem solved then i was only praying because i wanted His help and not simply pray because i wanted to for no reason.

well no one's had that serious of an illness in my family before but i've come pretty close. i have an acute heart malfunction where my heart beats for over 170 times per minute while sitting down. i've been hospitalized several times when the beating wouldnt stop, and occasionally i have this stupid electrocardiograph (a heart monitor) stuck to my chest -__- its not a pretty sight...

from my experience, laughter and light-heartedness are 2 of nature's best medicines. tell him jokes, watch comedies with him, take him out for a trip. and let him know that his illness cannot break the sibling bond between u 2. that always works

Well no one in my family has been very sick, but my brother his stomach was hurting badly and we figured out his appendix was about to explode, so good thing we brought him to the doctors and they took it out.

Umm. That's what I'm afraid of too. Hes' all "Kayla. Trust me. You don't want to be sick like me right now." That's what he said yesterday.
He has mono. But then it like..got worse somehow. So now his whole body is sick or something.
