You can still double-check your grammar/spelling though. Bad grammar/spelling irritates me a lot. pinch.gif

I've never really liked rap/hip hop that much, maybe because I was only exposed to this genre of music when it started going downhill already. I've heard some good rap that gives positive messages, but I can't remember the song titles.

By the way, this should go into entertainment I think.

you should read my opinion on Indie Music in the entertainment thread .....its getting way out Downhill and is getting overated ....same old rock ...same old RnB .......same olf Hip Hop .......same old metal .... ....look what happened to emo (example) ......Indie and the Underground will be the new Mainstream of music in the next upcoming years ......trust me ....music is changing and revolutionizing .....i agree with you ..

i agree with you.. man, when i turn on the radio today, you know what im sayin, its like, its like man, im hearin the same thing over and over again, you know what im sayin? constantly being drilled with the same style, with the same, with the same beat, with the same everything, you know? its like a lot of things done changed about the music cause the music game aint original no mo'. everybody's tryin to ride the bandwagon, everybody's trying to do what this person's doing, you know what im saying, aint nobody trying to take the time to be creative and go about it the hard way and really earn a hit. instead, everybody just wanna jump on the bandwagon on whats selling, or you know what im sayin? "this whats selling right now at the time, this what kinda song im gon' make". you know what im sayin, with me, its totally different man, whatever it, whatever's going on out in the music business right now or on the radio, whatevers going on, or whatever style is poppin, thats what i try to stay away from. i try to be, i try to be a innovator and a creator, i try to lead, i try to be a leader, and i try to do my own thing, you know im not tryin to nobody, cause i believe i got enough skill and enough style to hold my own, with anything...

I agree but not ALL mainstream artists are bad, you're just not listening to the right artists. Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, The Roots, Royce Da 5'9", De La Soul, Pharoahe Monch, etc. are all mainstream "conscious" rappers. Artists such as these don't get the attention they deserve simply because this is not what the public wants to hear. It's the listeners' faults for buying material from artists that are about sex, drugs, money, etc. If we support better artists, then maybe we can finally see a positive change in hip-hop.

Yeah..I don't know about you, but I'm not gonna be in a "club mood" at 6:00 PM watching 106 and Park

not that I go to clubs...just an example.

yeah and I agree with the topic creator...it does seem like there's a lot of mainstream crap out there, that's why if I'm gonna listen to a mainstream artist, it's gonna be someone respectable like Kanye West and Mighty Mos, not J-Kwon and Mike Jones.

the problem is (and I sound like an old hag) is that the young kids don't want the good stuff, they want the booty shaking stuff, because that's what they're mostly exposed to, and I blame BET and bad parenting for that.

I hardly listen to mainstream rap anymore. I am becoming a mostly underground chick (as far as hip hop is concerned) these days.

Agreed. They only sing about those things. They should really try singing songs with meaning. Kindof like Kanye West does.
