the grudge was ok.. it wasn't that scary though..

anyway, i agree that movies today are so disappointing *with the exception of a few movies* .. maybe it's because there's nothing else to make a movie about.. no more good plots or anything..

yea, because they don't really have any good ideas anymore, they just remake a lot of old movies.

Yeah, I feel that way with some of the movies. Remakes that aren't actually annoy me.

That's why I prefer older, classic movies.

There really aren't any good movies. They are either remaking, or making sequels, which will just suck.

*sigh*

I liked Charlie && the Chocolate Factory, though, but I've always been a fan of Tim Burton && Danny Elfman. =] Movies are eh, the remakes are getting pretty corny, but I like Charlie && the Choco Fact., anyways, as I stated before. I actually didn't take to War of the Worlds, sure there was action && it was a Steven Spielberg film, but the cause of death of the aliens was very, very simple, that it made me think, "maybe Robbie being great eye candy was the highlight of this movie". Batman Begins, *thumbs up* =P This was the first Batman the costume actually looked dark && it was done very well. =] Except they changed the setup of the villians, but it's alright because they're probably going to remake them all over again.

the grudge was already made before it came out here. originally japanese, i think. it's SAD that people can't make up their own movies any more... they just remake the good ones. if you are bored with these movies today... you should go to some local film festivals and stuff. see what other underground people are doing. or just make your own.

It's cause you're not watching the good ones .... put a little effort into finding good movies and you won't be disappointed.

And you wonder why Oscar movies are the ones you've never heard of.

OMG....I was laughing at Grudge the whole time too b/c it was pathetic and not even scary. HOwever, the Japanese version is scary. Just like the RING in Japanese is so much scarier.

The thing about a lot of movies now is that they are studio-driven, not director-driven, so they are purely commercial and lack a lot of artistic merit.

How can a movie with jet fighters, explosions, and women in bikinis be boring?

I dont agree. Some of these movies that are coming out look really good. Like The dukes of Hazzard was a really good movie, so was Sky High.

Half of the new remakes out, I bet all of you haven't seen the originals. Have you seen the original Herbie: The Love Bug? I doubt it ..... how about the original Dukes of Hazzard show .... half of you aren't even old enough to remember it.

The point is to not complain that they are remaking them, because you have no reason to. I agree that it takes less originality to remake something that has been done before ..... but if its the first time you're seeing it, why does it matter to you?

Most are getting bad....I guess they either need more ideas or need to read more books for ideas.

The only one I'm looking forward to is the Harry Potter one! (^___^)

I like the original Japanese version of scary movies like The Grudge or The Ring. The Chinese ones are really cheaply made, but really funny. Sometimes the plot is scary, which is good!

some movies are disappointing, like no offense.. but mary kate and ashley movies or anything similar.. are very.. disappointing... its funny at times, but some classical movies are way better with deeper meanings that you really have to look into not just the usual good guys always win.
