I searched and nothing came up so, I was wondering has anyone ever participated in habitat for humanity? If so what did you think of it? What skills would have made things easier? Did it effect you in any way?

I'm most probably going to chile in november with habitat for humanity, and I was wondering what people's experiences with the group were.

If you have never participated in a habitat project, have you ever thought about it?

If you have no idea what I am talking about, visist their website to find out more information

One of my friends did it years ago and she went to Florida. She helped build houses. She said it was a nice experience.

I've always wanted to do some projects for Habitat for Humanity, but I've never really looked into it in depth.

I wanted to the Blitz Build this summer, but I'm too young. sad.gif

I've did some stuff for Habitat for Humanity, but it was just in my city. I didn't go off elsewhere. I planted flowers and leveled out the dirt.

It was really fun to do especially when we get to meet and greet the family recieving the house. The looks on their faces is priceless. =]

If you guys haven't done anything for H4H I suggest you should it's really fun. =D

I just read about it and it said that no one under 16 can help build houses. I would want to help build a house except I'm not 16 yet.

But it said that there were like more jobs that I could do or something and it seems very interesting and I might even go volunteer!

4 years ago, I participated in helping clean out some torn abandoned houses in Baltimore city. I remember it being very hot and getting very dirty. What skills would have made it easier? How about some more muscle power. There was a lot of heavy lifting. It was a nice experience though, I was glad to help out somehow.

Yeah I'm not 16 yet either (15) and i already talked to them about it. We can paint the walls, do landscaping, help renovate if needed, talk to the family, and help organize things.
