brush effect help please., i m having trouble |

Hi, I am having trouble adding special effects to brushes... I dont know how to make it darker, or you know, effects...i tried the layer options, but it only changes the layer, can anyone help me please?

umm that picture has does not really have effects .. those are just brushes.
its just grey & black brushes thats all . but im confused on what you mean is that your banner or the one you want youts like. if you want yours like that one there are not really many effects there just brushes. in grayscale? |

It might help if you did take it OUT of greyscale.
