help now! keys are locked in car. Options

well... my friend's keys are locked in her car and she's at her ex bf's house and she can't call her mom for the spare because she's not suppose to be there. anybody have suggestions on how to break in a car?

if there are any windows open, take apart a wire coat hanger and fish it out.

if not, tough luck. break a window, say someone else did it. kidding.
next time, keep a spare key in that spot in front of the tire, or just don't go against what the parents say.

Call the DMV people, I think. The triple A people. AAA people. That fix cars and stuff.. they use this tool to pick the lock and get your keys out or something.

take a coat hanger, just wire, no vinyl on it.

now, unbend it and make one end into three sides of a square- like this:

like a square hook.

use it, and try to hook the lock up. through the window, right where the lock on the inside is. You have to sort of hook up the linkage of the the internal lock to the door lock...

just watch the reposessors.


or... you can pick the lock... cars are harder,becasue they have two sets of pins, on on the top and one on the bottom, and you have to stroke them alternatly.

if there are 4 sets of pins, like some new cars, then it's a lot harder.

except to steal it, you'd have to hotwire it by...

Well, for my parents, they get too freaked out to do those stuff by themself, so they end up just calling for help.

then you take the keys on the inside and use them to turn off the alarm. The alarm will only go off when the door gets unlocked, if i'm correct. that's how most car alarms would work.

you could always call a locksmith. that would be the obvious answer, i would think.

Call a tow truck and tell them you locked your keys in the car. One of our good family friends is a tow truck driver and they have a special tool that unlocks the door in a second. Pretty easy...if you have the tool.

lol my dad does that all the time. I think i remember him using a wired hanger or somethan... lol but Fallen_angel1137 has a good point. If you call the tow truck company and tell them, then i'm sure they have some sort of tool to open it. :)

since her keys are looked in her car, i doubt her mom will care that shes at her ex's house. its a spare of the moment thing. just say he was the only one available.

i personally have a spare key type thing in my wallet, but it only unlocks the door...it wont start the car.

just go back home..and get the spare..and go back

if you do it any other way the alarm will go off but you can probaly de-arm is with the swith (depending on what alarm/car) if not take the keys out lock the car again and wait 10 minutes...the alarm will go off by itself...

Now she just told her mom that someone tried to break in her car and now her mom is trying to call the police. *sighs* oh gosh.

if the window is open even i a little put ur fingers in there and push down HARD if not put ur hands on the window and slide down slowly but hard and then once window open grab keys

Is there an entrance at the back of the car ? break through and do through the car seats.

well, you can break the back .. so when you get home, they wouldnt realize the damage of the car .. till 3 more weeks. =]

anyway--what your friend and her ex did was kinda stupid. breaking the window? all you had to do, like what 3498324 people said on this thread, was to call a locksmith. how hard is that?

well see, i was about to call up some locksmith places (or whatever they're called) for prices and then i get a call saying that her ex already broke the window.. so then i switched from calling locksmiths to calling window repair services so i really couldn't do anything about the whole window crap..and btw she didn't have an alarm on her car

but anyway, my friend parked the car at this nearby ghetto mall and called her mom telling her she found the car like that. her mom called the police and the police went down there along with her mom and her dad. they filed a report and her mom just drove the car home and she rode in her dad's car. all this because she went to her ex's house.


AND OH OH OH! GUESS WHAT I FOUND OUT! if you have one of those remotes to unlock the car, you can unlock it through the phone. like, lets say someone has a spare remote at home and you're somewhere. just hit 'unlock' towards the phones and it unlocks the car!
