Have you ever been at a store, and then people just come up to you asking for help? For some reason, I get mistaken for a worker whenever I go to Urban Outfitters. I never know what to say, except I just apologize and walk off feeling stupid.
Haha...

So have you ever been mistaken for a worker or anyone else?

Once. At a shoe store. I stood there confused, "Um. I don't work here." And then I left.

Happens all the time when I go to anchor blue since I shop a lot there and for some reason when I go i'm wearing anchor blue clothes, since all the workers wear are the clothes people think I work there. Its always

When I went to JCPenny's.. none of the workers there have a special uniform.. maybe an name tag but that's about it. I was walking around, browsing some clothes.. and this lady comes up to me and says, "I'm not sure if this is on sale because the sale isn't for this brand of clothing." (or something on that sort). I just looked at her blanky and said "I'm sorry.. but I don't work here blink.gif "

Yes. Quite a few times around Queens Center at random clothes store. I'm just like, "No, sorry, I don't work- err... ;)" and then they go "Oh, sorry" and we both walk away feeling awkward.

It has happened to me loads of times.
I think it was circuit city, but I was wearing a red pull on shrit with the polo type collar and black slacks with it.
Anyway, the workers there were wearing the same exact thing, the only difference was that their red shirts had 'circuit city' embroidered on it.
And everytime I was looking at the computers, cameras or games, customers would come up to me asking "how much is this?" or "could you recommend me a good one?".
It was pretty funny, I apologized to them and said I didn't work there.
It also happens at pet stores for some reason.

Since I can't ride buses because I have fear of riding on them. anyways ---- i stayed there for like 4 hours since i knew the lady...she didnt mind that i was there. hehh and like 8 people so far came tp me and asked me few questions about stuff and i was like "oh i dont work here" hehh... i kinda felt stupid while they feel stupid too.

Ooh, good topic.

It's happened to me quite a few times. Most of the time, it's in clothing stores and they ask if I know where a certain brand of clothes are located. I kind of blush and say I don't work there. And then one time it happened at a grocery store, which was weird since I obviously wasn't wearing the store's uniform. People these days =]

Ohmegosh. I was at the French supermarket with my guy friend and we were in our school uniforms. And this lady walks up to us and asks us where the eggs are! Our uniforms were identical to the uniforms the workers wear. Yellow button up and dark blue bottoms. ><

Too many times, actually. I don't know why, but people just think I work everywhere. Once, I was in JcPenney's kid section and a lady was like "Hi, do you have this in size blah blah and this color blah blah", I swear she was rambling there for 10 minutes, and I finally got a word in, saying "Er, I don't work here" and she got all smart with me. _dry.gif

Before i start asking people where things is i look inquiringly at them and say "Are you a worker/Do you work here?"

Ive been mistaken for a worker quite a lot of times. Usually in clothes stores. If I know where the item they are looking for is i direct them to it, but if i dont i just tell them im not a worker.

I carpool with my boyfriend, so I hafta show up early a lot to work. On days when I'm there up to an hour early, I'm walking around the mall in my dress pants and whatnot, so in most department stores I look like an employee. So yeah, it happens a lot. It's embarrassing sometimes, but mostly just amusing.

Just a few times. I think it is funny and I usually just say "Oh, I don't work here!".

My boyfriend once got asked at Walmart for help. It was hilarious, esp. because he was wearing a red shirt and kahkis-which is Target colors.

and i just stood there.. and said "i dont work here.."

I think I have once.

Which is pretty weird considering I'm young as 13. And actually, if I'm thinking right, it was way before I turned 13. blink.gif That person must've been lost...

That happened to me at home depot.
I was wearing the orange apron cause it was hanging on one of the displays.

This lady came up to me and said, "Hank could be please tell me where I can find sprinklers?"

Hank was the name on the apron.

I was confused at first, then I realized why this was happening. So I explained to her, she laughed and walked away.

Often! I don't understand why! I'm carrying around my bag/purse. What more do they need? I guess it's because I take my time when i look at things and when I put it back I like putting it back nicely. But come on! I'm wearing a bag!

Yeah.... I was wearing a maroon shirt at Target once and this lady comes up to me and asks me what kind of memory stick her camera takes. So I explained it to her and then she noticed I wasn't wearing a name tag. XD
At Best Buy and Border's too! It's because as I look through the DVD's and books, I put them back in order. Completely random people come up to me and ask where the whatever section is... And I just stare at them, explain it, and go back to what I'm doing.

Almost every time that I go to Papaya or Forever 21, someone taps my shoulder and asks if I work there. mellow.gif I remember being at WalMart and some old lady asked me if I could do a price check on something.. wth.. I wasn't even wearing the walmart workers' vest, much less a blue shirt. I believe I was wearing black... mellow.gif Yea... weird. sweating.gif

Hah, yeah.
I specifically remember ordering something from Cinnabon and the guy asked if I worked in the mall. Does that count?
Someone thought I was a Target worker, hah.

I was looking through a pile of photo albums to choose to buy and a guy asked me where something was. I just said "Sorry, I don't work here."

Another time was at a Chinese restaurant, I was on my way to the bathroom when an elderly lady asked if she could put 2 tables together to form a bigger table. I told her I didn't work there..... and realising that i was wearing the same colours as their uniforms

some of the cops at school think we are district employees..

because one time, we had ID's and we were going around fixing cables and stuff for teachers and their pc's...

so now, when the cop sees one of us at jack in the box, he's like hey, what's up... but when it's someone else, he gives them d-hall or something.. lol
