It's pretty nice though I think the blog should be the same width of the banner.

Too much green, but it's a nice shade of green, so that's okay.
Kudos for the search bar. Not a lot of layouts can look good with one. Just take out the info box, and it'll look good. |

Suggestion:
-Get rid of the search bar -Make the blog the same width as the banner -Get the ad remove Looks a bit plain but its good since you are a beginner =] I like the green and black. |
