official member requirements

Do you think we should increase the number of requirements for official member-dom? Currently it seems that one can be an official member in just a day, which doesn't show a lot of dedication to createblog. Perhaps we should implement a rule that says they should have joined CB for a minimum of a week (or something like that) with a ppd of 5?

Discuss.

well, even though you could easily fulfill all of the requirments in one day...you have to keep up witht he 5ppd which keeps you coming back every-so-often. but i concur with james...i think that 50 posts is too low. ermm.gif

However, if the minimum post count for the official member status were raised, it'd be great since I'm starting to see too many people trying to get fifty posts in one day for the mere service of the xtracker and then leaving after they get the status (which, they usually don't so they keep spamming).

Well if you think about it, one can sign up and post 100 posts that day, apply for official memberdom, get their tracker, and leave. And it'll take a long time for their ppd to drop to 5, so they're not dedicated; they just had free time one day. That's why I think there should be a minimum time period for when they've been at CB.

However, the 100 posts would still be much better than the 50 we have now.

I know I'm a bit late, but I agree. It should be at least 100. If not, up to maybe 150 or so. It seems a majority CB can be an official member right now and it's kind of weird to see an official member with 70 posts, 5 posts a day and be around for only 2 weeks..

Post Per Day, isn't too hard to keep up with. 5 in a day isn't too hard, is it?

Yeah I jus joined but still, I think 100 posts is much better, it's making the members give more dedication to CB so yeah I like the idea ;D

I agree. "Official Member" status should be somewhat of a challenging goal, and if you can attain that status in one day, then it sort of loses its luster. :P

an exam-le of the 'quick 50' thing:

go to writing, and look at [deep]thought, who has just replied to every topic on the first couple of pages, with one word or short replies, such as 'great!' or 'i like it'

grr arrgh

I definately agree with this, since it is easy getting 50 posts and 5ppd in just one day, because all they could do is spam. We should also mek sure the member's will stay active. Since the Official member title gives you opportunities to use the uploader and such.
