Recently, I had to do a project on Japan so I borrowed a whole bunch of books. Afterwards, I returned them maybe just a bit late but not weeks late. My public library was having renovations and was upgrading their system so its kinda messed but now still on my records they think I still have a book and now Im charged 20+ dollars. I'm very pissed. I told the library people already but I'm not sure if they are going to charge me for the book they dont have.

Does this ever happen to you?

Something similar to this happened to me.
At the end of the school year when everyone had to turn in their books there was writing in mine and the librarian said that "I" was responsible [which kinda makes sense]. So I had to pay 2 bucks.

i got two free textbooks from school.

in spanish in 7th grade, i lost my textbook, so the teacher gave me another one.

and then she quit--so i wasn't charged with either one of the books :)

that was fun.

yeah in middle school, i got away with keeping library books so many times cuz they didn't keep track very well..

but now in high school, i've paid ten bucks in fines for one book :-\

I know I hate library fines... but I guess they need their source of income.

I got back at my library by ripping like... 400 of their CD's to my laptop! heheheh

I used to go to the library in the city I used to live in all the time. I moved and stopped going. Eventually went back and they told me I had $120 in fines. Which is a lie. I am never going back again.

I left my library book at the library and they were charging me for it. Those idiots didn't even say it was returned, they just let it sit on the shelf and my late fees were going up and up. I got like 3 phone calls.

But I went there and told them about it; they found it and voided the charges.

they only allow you to renew it a certain ammount of time.. and they dont give you a receipt for returning a book they only give you a receipt when you borrow one and when you paid for it

That really sucks. But at least it's not $100 and over.

But you know what? I got lucky here.

Well... I had an overdue music CD. Stacie Orrico and Rachael Lampa. The Christian singers...

But... they update their record and by accidentally they erased all my records so that means my overdues were gone... that their track of my money to suppose to pay was gone and if you see in the computer, it says "no overdue books"... lol
