i've searched the forum and i don't think this topic already exists...

in exactly two weeks from now, on july 16th, harry potter and the half-blood prince comes out. i was just wondering if anyone was going to any of the release parties or planning on doing anything interesting for it.
i'll be away at camp on the 16th ermm.gif , but that day happens to be my sister's bday, so i'm just gonna give her some money to buy it as her present and wait for her to finish it then read it myself. biggrin.gif

what are you planning on doing???

Read it. I'll most likely be finished the following two weeks. I'm slow but I engulf every word.

it arrives on my doorstep at 5:30 AM. either that, or 6:00. and then i take my book, and bring it along with me to my dad's company's Family Day event thing. fun fun, free food, candy, stuff, and lots of games. yay..they have kickass cheeseburgers there. omg, they were like, orgasmic. mmm...

I leave for France, Italy and Spain two days before it comes out and then I will be there for three weeks. Once I come back to the states I will buy the book at a bookstore in an airport and then read it on my connecting flight.

Cool. I'm not that in to Harry Potter. But on that day I will be at Band Camp. I think or is it the 18th. blink.gif Well. I might buy the book though, just to see what it's like. I like the movies better than the books though.

well, i would be at barnes and noble at midnight picking up my reserved copy, but i didn't reserve one because i can't go because that's the day we're driving back from the beach, so hopefully i will either a) go to a bookstore in virginia, b) pick it up in the morning before we leave, or c) buy it when i get back, which i hope isn't the case. i want to be able to read it in the car, especially since i have to finish before james

I don't like Harry Potter much either. It's just, well, dumb, IMO!

On july 16th those who like HP will probably be lining up @ the bookstores. Not me!

I get off work at 9pm that night. After that, I will be going to Borders, which is 2 minutes away, and joining my friends for our 'harry potter party.' since I reserved mine, I will pick it up at midnight and read the whole night. How exciting happy.gif
