best friend vs. boy friend |

my best friend is a guy and sometimes it seems like he acts like a boy friend around me ive asked a bunch of my other friends and they said that he is doing what a really close good brother type best friend does.. so now im confused... what is the difference between a best friend and a boy friend?
edit for example... a lot of guys really just want ass from me and i would tell him the things they say to me [since i tell him EVERYTHING] and he would get really upset and say things like "i really want to them to say that to you in front of me so i could punch them" |

I'm a best friend to a girl, just like yours. And there is one big diffrence between us and a boyfriend.
We typically become your pseudo boyfriends. The sad thing is that we sometimes (most times, in my case)will end up liking the other. He might like you now. On the other hand, we also become your pseudo big brother. We'll be pissed if someone is screwing around with you and will feel protective. You trust us, we trust you and now comes a responsability. He cares for you, hang on to him, because not many guys will care. |

yes i agree with all of them. he seems to care very much for you so hold onto him. plus, who knows-- maybe you two will have a future romantically. if not, you'll always have each other through the thick and thin.

my boyfriends are always my past best friends.. and the current one right now that i started to have a romantic attraction to; he started saying things like "i would punch that guy in his face if i were there" and just stuff that seems different from his regular lines..

It's been my experiance and knoledge that "best friends" will usually not become boyfriends, but this is usually because of:
1.The guy becomes slightly clingy 2.the guy becomes to be too honest, desposing his life and feelings 3. The guy usually finds himself in a position that a girl makes hima pseudo girlfriend, and he will be trusted so far as to where he doesn't seem desirable due to his transition from friend to "girl friend". After a certain point, they are friends, and strictly friends. But hey, it's only experiance an knoledge, what does that mean nowadays? |

He cares about you. I have this one guy friend that he'll make sure that if one of my boyfriends does something stupid, he[my boyfriend] will get hell. [i'm single now, but when i was going out with this one guy he would be there to make sure everything was alright.] He cares, hang on to him cause frankly, the world is shrinking of guys that really care.

sounds like hes just really scared of commitment or something... just remember there is no such thing as a plutonic relationship.. eventually over time feelings have to either grow strong.. or become nothing.. nothing can ever just stay the same.. just wait and be patient.. hell come around eventually.. hopefully..

I think he's just being a good friend.
Until he does something like more romantic/sexual....I think he's just a good friend.Don't let him go. I used to have a friend like that. |
