Official Members' ppd.

I've noticed that a lot of people that apply to be official members only do it for the xanga tools and thus let their ppd drop after getting the status. And since I'm so anal, I guess this thread is to inform of member with a ppd less than 5.

I thought the mods would check regularly to demote unactive official members back to members... but clearly it's not that strict.

EDIT;; wait...if they gave the power to demote official members...than that would have to have access to the adminCP...blink.gif so that wouldn't make them head staff...it would make them admins. huh.gif

you can give head staff the power to demote members without giving them the powers to, say create subforums or that kind of thing

because im head staff on genf, ad can access admin cp, while ariel is admin, and can do some stuff i cant, i'm pretty sure

I mean, I was gone for quite a while, but for me to have a 5.0 ppd I need 50 posts in one daym or 20 posts spread out among days.

Ever since I got my cB addiction, I've made an easy20-40 ppd, without spam.

It's not a matter of pain, it's a matter of fun ^_^

I agree that most offical member is just posting to use the tools
and half of the reasons why I'm active is also to keep the post count above 5.
The tools are the reasons why people would like to become an official member, isn't?
But true, I think the mod/staff should keep an eye of the official member's post count to keep the forum goin.

I know. I didn't log on for the first month or so I joined CB and I have my post count over 5..

I think the people who don't log on for several months without alerting the staff should be considered unregistered. Just for the sake of organization and not having idle members still floating around. And so this "official member with inadequate PPD" list would be shorter because we wouldn't have to worry about them.

this seems relevant, so i thought i'd bring it up.
now that we have a pinned topic on absences in the lounge, we can see who's gone and who isn't. my idea is that official members who post get their ppd "frozen" until the day they say they'll come back, regardless of when they actually decide to post that they are.

that made almost no sense.

That could lead to alot of problems. What is they dont come back within the timeframe they are suppose to? Or just make up an absense because, lets say, they are too lazy to post but dont want their ppd to go down. In the offical member thread there is a remedy for this

QUOTE
I'm going to be on a trip for several weeks. How can i not be demoted in that time?
A: Post like a mad dog... here is a chart.
1 day away- post 5 posts more than usual.
2 days- post 10 posts more than you usually would
3 days- post 15 more than you usually would, and so forth.
Basically, calculate how many posts you must post in order to at least stay 5 posts a day on the average. Then, post but DO NOT SPAM.

Sorry but theres no way to "freeze" PPDs. The only solution is to post frequently, perhaps more than 5 times a day, to keep your PPD up even during such circumstances in which one is away.

Hrm, what?

Most official members is just posting to use the tools?

Are you serious? I honestly don't notice many of the official members using the tools that often.

Not an official member but an official designer--with a 1.2 PPD.

..wait, do Offical Designers have a PPD requirement?

Nope. Read the official designers topic and you'll know. _smile.gif

^ Sorry for double posting, but it seems like the members Suzzette and I posted up there are still official members. I wonder if the admins check this topic... ermm.gif

Can someone move this topic to a sub forum called “Announcement” or at least pin this topic? This useful thread will show up and help notify the administrations better. It'll be easier to browse this thread.

He hasn't been back for a long time... I'm keeping him at Official Designer because he submitted 16 layouts, and I'm also hoping he'll come back.

What I was asked was to demote past moderators' member group to Official Member, but you're completely right about the whole warning--ANY official member warned will be demoted from now on, no matter what their past status was. Although, the only exception was that I wanted to keep ex-moderators at Official Member status, even if they fall behind 5 ppd. The thing is, they did a lot for the community, and I don't want to deny them of something they deserved (such as xanga tools, larger pm storage), only if they still posted here, even if it was occassionally.

Although double-posting is bad, I wanted to bump up this topic and say that I've demoted quite a few Official Members due to their Posts Per Day average and/or warning levels. If I missed anyone that should've been demoted, please post in this topic. Thanks.

BTW, I will do this routine check every week. Some members are on the verge of being demoted, so keep on posting. :]

Also, there are some members that were former moderators and I'd like to keep to as Official Members, even if they're PPD is low, unless it drops below 4, then I will demote them. Sounds fair?

Alright guys, I don't think there's all too much reason for concern when the PPD has only dropped to 4.9...I don't think that should be so urgent that it needs to be pointed out.
