I'm like a carpenter, in a sense,
But one that would never get contracted,
For an arrant lack of sleight; a defiency in dexterity.
I possess a clumsiness that can't be surmounted;
A debarment that holds me down,
Especially in instances of building.
I'll get a fancy, farfetched, preposterous idea,
And I'll pursue it,
With vigor unmatched by many others.
And then I'll realize that my foundation isn't strong enough,
My support beams are cracking in every spot,
My dimensions are slightly off,
So much to topple the entire structure.
The structure is my confidence, my emotional state,
My will to dust off the rubble and rebuild.
Life is a business of carpentry,
And I have yet to learn the basics.

I love the metaphor that this piece is. It was very clever and well written, my friend. I feel so sorry that you feel that way though. I hope things turn around for you.
