i broke up with my bf, did i do the right thing? Options

well to start off, i've been with this guy for about 5 months. he liked this other girl, Jane, for a long time before we went out. Then he told me that he liked me more. So we went out for awhile. Awhile ago, i asked him if he still liked her. He said no and that they were only friends.

in about a week, i'm leaving for about 3 weeks to go to china. and then he started talking about breaking up. i kept saying how i didnt want to; and he kept saying how it would be better for me, all that stuff. i'm not sure if he wanted to break up or not; cause apparently; he "loves" me.

and then i asked him if he ever missed me. i always missed him, every single day. my heart would be aching like crazy until i'm on the verge of tears whenever he's not around. and i wondered if he missed me the way i missed him.

him: yeah; cause in the day, im usually with you

him: i dunno; im always thinking about hw.

when he said that he thinks about hw all the time, i knew he was lying. i always see him laughing and playing basketball with his friends. and then later on, i got bored and signed onto his screenname when he was on it. right when i signed on, he kicked me off. so i told him that i had to do something. and i signed on again. and right when i sign on, i get an im from the girl he used to like:

i was pretending to be him, and that was me talking (xDTenzingxD)

so i find out that he told her that he still liked her. i got so pissed that he lied to me that i broke it off with him. i started to tell him that i hated him, and took back everything i ever said to him. i took back all the "i love you"s and "i miss you"s. i got so pissed that i said anything that came to mind.



so now i'm asking, do you think i did the right thing and broke up with him?
cause right now, im regretting it all.

i have to say juliana that. compared to what elina heard from tenzing like the wholeeee story, elina commented back on his xanga saying "she shouldve listened to you. i felt like crying after i heard your explanation".

i felt bad when i read that. i felt like you actually did misunderstand SOME parts.
other parts like he lied to you and all that bullshit, you know its true. but the other stuff.. it sort of seems like you rushed in a little too much. seemed as if you were scared and angry and just rushed into action without actually getting a FULL answer and making everything SETTLED, and finding out the truth.

however, i dont blame you. who wont break up with the boy if the girl found this kind of information out.
saying it straightfowardly, i think you rushed into action a little too much but i know perfectly well that you know that yourself right? of course.
not that you were 100% wrong about breaking up with him.

such as.
him being so shitty to you.
he fucken was practically begging to break up with you.
he fucken didnt even think about you when you werent there.
he fucken made you cry like this.
he fucken always played dumb when you were trying to get serious with him.
he fucken just said all these things like i love you and stuff because practically YOU said it.

but he regrets it all too juliana.
he said he messed up so badly.

I totally agree with Nancy. I'm on neither sides, but I guess you guys broke up for the better of it. He was going off to high school while we still remained. Although I would've waited to hear both sides of the story before doing anything. I read Elina's comment as well and say "she should have listened to you" You had your reasons. And he had his. Don't worry babe, me amy jue and nancy will get you through it all.

yeah, he doesnt sound like he knows what it is that he wants. you had the right to be angry, i mean..five months.
But he suggested to break up with you. Now he has it. You did the right thing.
But dont end things on such a bad note. You were angry and thats understandable, but i say go back and adjust the last little details.
