Yeah, I embraced the search button.
Since a lot of you seem to find Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and countless others bad role models, who do you think (and we're talking about current celebrities) is a good role model? I would pick Alicia Keys, since she's rarely in the tabloids, actually has talent and dresses modestly. Anyway, who would you pick? |

Yes my boo, Alicia Keys, definitely does make a good role model for everyone.
As far as me I really don't have a celebrity role model though. Maybe Will Smith. |

Definitely Alicia Keys! She has some real talent unlike the other "singers" out there
Why is Paris Hilton a role model anyway? |

Joey Jordison, but you saw that one coming.
Mick Thomson. He's crazy. Smart and talented as well. I just really like him. *shrugs* Wednesday 13. His vocal style is both amazing and unique. I'd love to be able to sing and scream like he can. I love his style as well. Cristina Scabbia. She has an amazing voice, and it's awesome to see girls with talent lead metal bands. She's very smart as well. Otep Shamaya. I think of her as basically the same way as I think of Cristina up there. She's awesome. I love her voice. She can sing so well, but she can also scream really well... now that is something I would like to be good at. |

Hm.... actually, I don't know if I'd want to become similar to any of the stars I like.
Possibly Johnny Deep. Oh and possibly Amy Lee. She is so gifted and independent. It urges me to be more and more like her. |

Paris Hilton is my role model in that I want to become so awesome that people GIVE me designer clothes (entire season lines at a time) just so I can boost their sales, like they do for her.
Any crazy rockstar that gets PAID to do what they love - make awesome music and have a good time. I'll be back to edit this later. |

Julia Stiles. She goes to an Ivy League College (which must be a lot of pressure there) and she also acts a lot (which must be even more pressure).

Cristina Scabbia, Amy Lee, and Kelly Clarkson. All three are amazing singers and Amy Lee doesn't care what anyone thinks of her.

QUOTE([f]eleeza @ Jun 23 2005, 11:15 AM) I suggest you guys back up why you think the people you chose are good role models, rather than just list them. ok, i will now. tina fey is just amazing. a great writer, she became SNL's first female head writer, she wrote and starred in Mean Girls, and it the only reason i still consitantly watch SNL. she's very pretty, but not in that intimidating sense of models and most actresses, especially since i've seen older pictures of her where she looked completely different and not very thin or pretty at all. plus, there's that mysterious scar, which as cliche as it seems quite cool |

WWMD?! - i am from the age of BM 2 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Group: Member Posts: 5,308 Joined: Mar 2004 Member No: 8,848 |
natalie portman - she doesn't choose to do films that would be the most mainstream typical films. she does movies by what she thinks is a good movie. i respect that.
tara lipinski - she won the olympics in figure skating at 16 years old. enough said. halle berry - she has gone through SO much and she's still staying beautiful and strong. she's a very talented actress and she's done wonderfully with overcoming the hardships in her life. drew barrymore - she had drug and alcohol problems very early in her life (starting at age 9, going into rehab at 13) and she's managed to keep a steady, impressive career despite setbacks. she wanted something and made it happen. she took control of her life and i admire her for that. kelly clarkson - people kept saying she was too chubby and everything..that was just absurd. she kept going without breaking down because she knew she was beautiful in her own eyes and she didn't let those people manipulate her into being a stereotypical pop singer. she's herself and she stays that way. i love that. |

QUOTE(Donavin @ Jun 21 2005, 3:29 PM) Martin Luther King- This guy was a real leader, he was a revolutionist and an activist for black rights. Also he was a preacher man... a preacher.
Tupac- He was an all around talented person... how can you deny brenda's got a baby? I mean she's got a baby.... Immortal Technique- I have no Idea. N.W.A.- The first people to use Nigger Voodoo the dancing monkey- He was the one who plauged the world in commercials with his fluffy goodness. Common- Multy Syllibillical rhymes.... he is a street poet. Mos Def-He can rap Dave Chappelle0 HE is hella funny, I'm a comedian. Nigger 2 power-'Nuff said. Yo Momma'- She had you didn't she? |

Your reasoning for Alicia Keys got me bought! ^_^
Hmmm, and alsooo.... I guess the old Gwen Stefani [when she was in No Doubt] because she was unique, herself, and didn't follow the fads. Oh, I forgot, and Oprah. I see her as a current celebrity. =) She's been through a lot of hard times and grew up poor but she worked hard and now she's a billionaire but not through some sleazy business but through a talkshow that helped people's lives. She also donates to a lot of foundations. This post has been edited by mocassinsx29: Jun 24 2005, 04:08 PM |

BoA is actually my role model because not because she's really famous. But she knows fashion. I learned a lot from her that I even changed and started to love fashion a lot. I always wore the same clothes not caring about fashion at all. Well BoA taught me a lot of things. She's also a girl who never gives up. She never turns back, she just keeps going even though times are rough for her. She's a busy girl, but she still goes through it. She wants to be famous like Miss Universe famous girl. So she never stops even though she fails few times and sometimes even collapse like having no strength to walk. But she still doesn't give up.
Which is a best role-model for me. |
