I like how people go nuts over piracy, for one, your protected by the Internet Privacy act of 1989.

If you're talking about this, then I am afraid you have fallen for a prank. wink.gif Piracy can be prosecuted, and at any rate, a legitimate website should not be promoting it.

Well actually, as long as you don't provide the code or the program itself, you are protected by the privacy act. And maybe you should read up on it. Plus - as far as I have read, I don't see and Photoshop serials or cracks. Plus its a forum, your also protected by a law that states forum users are at fault for illegal use of software. As long as the site does not PROMOTE it, then you fine. I own a hosting company, I host close to 20,000 domain - I know hosting rights, and I know what can be done legally. I have also been to court for legal battles with Torrent sites, you could only image what laws protect the torrent sites. Not only if the site is hosted in another country.. Such as the RIAA wanting to take down a site in Russia, cant happen, there's loopholes to sue, and there is even more loopholes to get out of it.

Even if it's not a legal issue, it's still a moral issue. Websites, especially legitimate ones, should not promote illegal activity.

Furthermore, it's not my statement of a policy; I believe CreateBlog does have a general policy regarding the supply of information related to software piracy. In fact, it's stated right here.

Furthermore, I do question your expertise on the subject, seeing as how you didn't know that the Internet Privacy Act of 1989 not only does not protect web site administrators, but is also not a real act.

Sir, there is nothing legitimate about software piracy, nor is there anything legitimate about supplying people with direct information regarding software piracy. If you run a legitimate hosting company, you should be aware of this.

I never stated that software piracy, nor supplying people with direct information regarding software piracy was legitimate. I just dont think that teaching someone how to put in a "serial" in Photoshop is illegal.

I'm now sad that we must stop, I felt as if I was talking to someone that was intelligent and knew a little something.
