Ok guys. I know its a question we've all had. How young is too young to date? 2 years? 3 years? what about too old? If your, say, 17 and you kinda think some 14 or 15 year old is kinda cute and she turns out to be your perfect match, just... younger lol. Is that weird? If you're 16 and like a 20 year old, is that too old? Or if you'd rather think of it in grade terms, an 11th grader going out with a 9th grader? Think about it, and post your thoughts cool.gif I thought it'd be an interesting topic. I'd really appriciate it if everyone who reads this at least gave their point of view

Well i guess I don't really know much bout this, cause i'm only 13 but love is love, doesn't really matter what age you are and i think a 15 year old dating a 17 year old is fine, only 2 years apart but if it was like 30 to 15 then there something wrong bout that. 11th grader going with a freshman? it seems fine to me, you guys are going to the same school right? so sure y not. mellow.gif

When you graduate from high school, age isn't a factor. Case in point; the girl I'm dating is 24, I'm 18.

In high school, always shoot for an older girl. Jailbait is deadly.

i dont rly think age is a factor i mean ive dated a grade below me and and two grades above me but it would be weird for a senior in highschool to be goin out w/ like a 7th grader weird but i did have a 13 yr old friend who dated a college chick for a while

Age is but a number. mellow.gif

I really don't believe in the age difference, as long as both the people in the relationship are happy and content withemselves and with eachother. mellow.gif

I personally don't go for older guys, it's either same age or younger (kinda freaky, but no I'm not a molester) it's just a wierd thing I have o_o;

I am attracted to younger guys, but I like dating older guys because they are more mature.
The age difference doesn't matter, as soon as we are going to the same school for a minimum of 2 years.

I think the age difference doesn't matter, but I think it seems to be in the negative light especially when an older individual is dating a younger one. Some people seem to think that the older person is trying to take advantage of the younger one, but that seems not to be the case anymore.

People need to be more tolerant!!

Well, it's like invisible rules, usually it's better when the guy is older. But for me, I'd say 2 years up or down age difference. Then when you older, it can be more around 5 for me. Think of it this way though...If you were 15 and you were dating someone 5 years younger than you, its alot different cuz there 10. It's like in the movie Big Fish with that girl Jenny, it turned out to be a big diff she said...and you probobly haven't seen that...

But you know, If you really love someone it souldn't matter...

Well, it depends. The "stereotypical range" is usually someone older. But if you think about it, if you date an older person, that older person is dating a younger person, no? And many people make a huge deal, thinking that just because you're a grade older or a grade younger, it doesn't mean you can go out with a different grade, other than your same grade, or older.
Just a girl's point of view.
And other girls take the age thing too stereotypically from what I've experienced.
But basically, there really is no range. Love really is love. It has no limits.

I think age is not the biggest factor in the world. As teenagers, personalities and maturity changes so quickly that big age ranges could be a problem. But the way I feel about is if you love someone, and you know you you are, then age has absolutely nothing to do with it. Granted, it is pretty creepy for some people to be about 30 years apart, but it's love right?

The age difference was the fate of my relationship. Funny thing is, he acted a lot younger than I did and yet he claimed that I should hang out with people only my own age and maturity. So it didn't work out and I don't want to think about it.

In my opinion, who cares? Love is love. For god's sake, does it matter how many years you've been on this earth to determine mental compatibility?

I do think age matters. I mean, can you guys possibly imagine a 12 year old dating a 65 year old, or a 14 year old dating a 6 year old?

I think not.

I think if you're still in school, I think the person you're dating should be 2 years younger as the youngest. Meh, I find it weird when a guy dates a girl that's way older than they are, especially since girls mature faster than guys do.

i think for teens 3 years is best but at the same time its the actualy ages

14 && 17 is ok, but a 16 && 19 seems sorta stange

i think its ok if they still go highschool or just graduated
it just depends...some times it strange

There have been marriages up to a 10 year ae diffrence. Age isn't an issue really, but it's usually best to go about 2-3 years in highschool and then not worry after that.

*Shrug* People are wierd.

most people used to go for someone younger than them if they were a guy but now a days i see guys dating girls that are more than 5+ years older than them just because they have more expirience and arent as mature as people that are younger than 18 and start all that teenage dating drama.
