this didn't really fit under any other category, so i guess this should be it.

ever think about it? maybe i'm being a pessimist, but i first thought of it in actuality was when i was eight. i ended up crying myself to sleep. it was just so overwhelming since you wouldn't know what would happen to you.
some may be religious and say that you'd go to heaven/hell depending on whether or not you've 'repented.' nonetheless, i sort of hope for some hardcore facts to believe in. i know it's hard to think about this and maybe it'd be something that'd bring you down.
death. in the atheist's point of view, you're merely nothing. nonexistent. you don't have a perspective, personality, or...rather, just absolutely nothing.
i try not to think about this too much, but it came into mind again last night and it kept me up for a bit. this idea's just so hard to answer.

i'd like to know what you think.

ehh.

death is the end. there is nothing significant after death.

it helps me to think that, to know that this (life) isn't just a dress rehersal for something else; that it wasn't wasted.

that being said, i stole that from house.

I think this belongs in the Lounge and I may move it later... I'll wait to see if there's any chance this will escalate into a debate.

Death is finality. Those who believe in an afterlife may disagree, but realize that I mean death is final to the life you know. In that, there is nothing to much to think about.

I used to ponder death and feared it. Then I realize, why fear the inevitable, the unchangeable. Why not prepare to face it instead, by living a life worth while. You know, to love and be loved and all that jazz. Eh, I don't really fear death, I fear pain.

^Yeah. This isn't really debate in my opinion because someone can't debate about their opinions on death. It would probably lead to a religious argument if anything and it could possibly offend people. My thoughts on death are, it's the end of your life, like there is an end to everything else. I used to be afraid of death as well, but it'll come one day and on the day you die, most likely you'll agree that it's about your time to go. The point of living right now is just to fulfill what you want to fulfill and not waste the time you have alive. ermm.gif If everyone was scared of death, they'd think living life, if it's going to end anyway, was pointless. We wouldn't have things like Createblog or television or music. But that isn't the case, so just try to enjoy yourself. rolleyes.gif

ahh! perfect analogy!

death are like the closing credits. you don't know if there'll be a sequel yet, but you know something's done.

that being said, it can also be the end of a tape where you didn't record the ending, and it rather pisses people off..

That's a pretty way to look at it.

That's it, this is going to the Lounge.

I use to think about this a lot when I was about 10 years old. I would cry my self to sleep when I imagined my mom gone. I thought how sad it is that when you are dead, you can't do anything ever again... your body is just.. there.

But I try not to think about it anymore.

I used to think about it when I was very little. In fact, I was afraid to die before. I'd always be so cautious of everything I do, caring each step I make, make sure I keep myself safe. I was so paranoid.. But mehhh, now I don't really care.
I just am ready to die. Life just seems useless as you grow older. *Shrug*

:( dont say that, you shouldnt be ready to die. I want to live as long as my body will carry me then once my time is up, I will accept it. I understand what I loose... I loose life... my friends... my family... but i always thought of death, as being another life. as to though we will come back as another creature. But ya its really hard when a family member dies. I watched one of my dogs get put to sleep. It wasnt pretty. I cried forever. Never watch someone you love die. Nor say you want to die.

I used to be really scared of death. I would ask myself every night, "WOULD I LIVE TOMORROW? WILL MOM LIVE TOMORROW? WILL DAD GET TO WORK SAFELY?" But now, it's like, "okay, whatever, everyone dies, so..why be scared of it?" And I believe in an afterlife, so I feel[ better about that.

i know how you feel i remember when i was about 6 or 7 years olld didnt know a thing , i thought about death and my parents family dying and i also cried my self to sleep its such a horrible thing, and whats after this what happens?? how do we have souls and our own personalilty its just so hard to coprehend, but then as time went on i learned that death is enevitable so i didnt care so much, but the biggest mystery is why and how are we living??? and whats after this, why do we feel pain, love, why are we emotional there is just so many question to ask about how the mind works ,

i know about the whole heaven / hell thing but if i were to die right now...i doubt i would go to heavan because i don't really believe in god. well, it's not that i don't believe in him it's just that i am confused as to what to believe in. i want to believe in him but...bleh...idk. mellow.gif

i am not afraid of death. i will just live my life to the fullest and whatever happens happens.

Don't think about death all your life, well, sort of. But you need to go on. Funny how death comes unexpectedly. Yes, I'm not afraid of death. But as death comes after me, I must live through them as bravely as I can. I was afraid of death before. I remembered once that I kept wondering why we die soon and asking myself, "what's the point of life that we are going to die soon?" That was when I was five or six years old. Then I come to a conclusion that death will occur when I am about seventy to a hundred years old, and I am still six years old, and that I can accomplish some goals until I'm seventy to a hundred something years old. rolleyes.gif

i use to have dreams about death and people dying all the time and still do. but i think i was more afraid of my family members and friends dying more than me.

but now it's like everybody is going to die sooner or later and you can't control it.
so why waste your time thinking about it all the time and getting all upset? instead live your life before you die.

Death seems to be just there for me. It's like you know you're going to grow up. So that's all. Yeah. I don't have any deep thoughts about death.
