To be human, does that mean we are above animals? Or are we equal? Does that mean that we are above the enviorment, or equal? Are we prone to disaster or do we seek it. Do we by nature, destroy, or do we build? Do we suffer from disaster? Or by self inflicted damage?

well technically we are above them on the food chain, so yeah.
QUOTE

i dont think we are above the environment as a whole

we destroy, to build would be to keep multiplying imo. we suffer from self-inflicted damage much more than natural disasters

Human... is when you're not a plant and you don't have fur or 4 legs or fins or tails or scales. Well, for the most part, anyway. I have a tail. I guess I'm not fully human. rolleyes.gif

Humans do have tails....well tail bones anyway.

What separates humans is the ability to think deeply and problem solve and other characteristics. Other than that, we're pretty much the same as other animals and plants. Even a banana.

Human is just what our species has been classified as, because of certain characteristics. I'm not going to try to be 'deep' and say that being human has something to do with what's on the inside ( Not blood and guts. Soul. ), because it doesn't. Humans will NEVER be above animals. ( This is where I try not to get into too long an explanation ) Humans take more than they need, they kill animals and eachother. They destroy the earth with their waste. Well, I don't want this to be too long but there's MORE. Anyway, humans aren't equal to animals. We're below them. Just because we've evolved enough so that we can survive, even in the wild, doesn't mean we're smarter or anything. We seek disaster by building things meant to destroy. We're destroying ourselves with technology. People are disgusting, foul, SICK- I'm getting carried away here, but it's true. I don't see chimpanzees locking humans up in cages, stuffing us in tubes, beating us and injecting us with experimental drugs. Not all people do this, but we take the drugs that killed innocent creatures.

I'm pointless. ~sighs~

stubborn.gif Yula is very smart. I have talked to him one-on-one many times before (especially lately) and he is very, very smart. I don't believe he copy/pasted this. I believe he came up with this on his own.

Take it or leave it, but I believe he came up with this thread on his own.

As humans, I believe that in everyone, we all have a savage, or shall I say, darkness in the human soul. Sometime in our life we have either succumbed to our selfish needs to do this or that. Also, sometime in our lifetime, I think that we have indeed acted like animals.
In an animal's instinct, they can either fight, or run in fear. As humans, we do both, considering thats what our instinct tells us.
By violence and war, we act no better than animals who fight for territory or for the attention of the mate.
It could delve in more deeper as to if we are higher, lower, or equal to animals. But as we look into our human psyche, I think we are about as equal to animals.

Hmmm, I think the way things are going, we are basically seeking danger. We are causing our own misfortune. I think, (not very sure about this one) that there is supposedly and overpopulation, which will eventually lead to the shortage of food and supplies. (major downer there). Eventually, this will lead to famine, in which we as humans suffer, and therefore succumb to our self-destruction.

Disasters in nature are of none of our doings. But then again, we may never know. A simple shift of a boulder might cause a landfall in the future. A loud sound can shatter the atmosphere of the mountain slopes fill of snow and cause an avalanche(Does this actually happen?). Its all a mystery to us humans. mellow.gif

This is one of those perplexing, open ended questions. It's sorta the thing you would see in the debate forum.

Anyway, not to spam. I think that to be human is to be in a class higher than that of animals. Our brains are larger!

Above. Ofcourse. Most of us wipe our asses. 'nuff said.

Does that mean that we are above the enviorment, or equal?
Neither. We're actually below. If you think about it, we've always been at the mercy of the environment. Nature > Humans

Are we prone to disaster or do we seek it.
Dunno. mellow.gif

Do we by nature, destroy, or do we build?
Both. We destroy to build. It's pretty damned obvious, so... not gonna explain further.

Do we suffer from disaster? Or by self inflicted damage?
Isnt this sort of like question #3? I think it is. Same answer.

Shouldn't this be in debate? blink.gif

Well, I personally think that the word 'human' denotes something more than just being a dominant species.
