I am getting a little sick about some people here reply back rudely to some people. I just saw one on the introductions forum. stubborn.gif Plus, I have been rudely replied to. It's not fair!! Some mods don't do anything about it. I think that mods should pay more attention. But you mods are awesome, but just SOME.

No offense.

That's just my opinion. Sorry.

And what do you expect the moderators to do about it? Do you want them to delete the post? Chastise the person who gave the rude reply? To be honest, there's nothing more mods, or anyone, can really do other than look down on such members. It's really not within their power.

No, I don't want them to close the topic. I want them to say, "Stop being so rude". It's my opinion. And I KNOW I cannot do anything about it. But it's getting very, very out of control!!

Whatever comments a user makes is their opinion as well, whether it's rude or not.
Also, different users have different perceptions of rude/mean/etc.

Some people don't care since it is the internet, and others are just easily offended..
Best bet is to get over it, as this is just the internet.

A mod should not delete a post made by a user if it's rude.
If it contains massive amount of vulgar content, defamation of character, or contains racial slurs, then it should be edited... Otherwise I think posts should be left as is. It does not make sense to censor an individual's voice because someone thinks it's rude/unfair/etc.

If you don't like it, then don't acknowledge it.

firstly, dont apologise for you ropinions, you're perfectly entitled to have them. it shows character weakness to say otherwise

also, please dear GOD stop saying 'its my opinion' every time you post. thats not a defense.

im 'rude'. it's not really my problem if you misinterpret my sarcasm, which isnt intended to upset anyone, then you'll just have to deal, im afraid. i choose to express myself in a sarcastic manner.

*shrugs*

also, the mods job is to protect the rules of the site. and 'rudeness' (when it doesnt contain any of the things jordan mentioned already, e.g. racism, etc.) doesnt infringe the rules. ergo, the mods dont have to do anything about it.

Hm, I understand what you're saying. Could you show an example, though? It doesn't only have to be mods that say " Stop being rude" or whatever.....regular members can do it too. Also, if the "rude member" keeps on being rude and doesn't obey the rules, just pm a mod about it. It's not a huge deal.

If these rude remarks go against the community guidelines, then you have a right to pm a mod about it.

QUOTE
Flaming, trolling, member bashing (you name it) - will not be tolerated here. If you're making an argument it's always better to retort with reason and composure. Personal attacks are childish and have no place in these forums.

Keeping mind what others have already said, sometimes how one may interept a rude comment may be seen differently by someone else. For some is could be scarasm, etc.. and then there are others who are just plain out rude.

Sometimes members are like that. Some even all the time. There's hardly we can do anything about it other than warning them.

Btw, where was that example taken from?

Jason said that in the introduction thread
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84455

To Brokendream-Jason and few other are always usually like that. I dont like it either. But he doesnt reflect the behavior of everyone on cB. Most abide the rules very well.

Someone like Jason61992, you can't really take into.. uh.. examples because being mean, I guess, is just in his nature. You're probably unaware that's he's already been warned (verbally & increasing of percentage) many times. This happens with a lot of members, but just because mods warn them all the time doesn't mean that they will stop.
If you want us to say "Stop being so rude", we can do that, and we usually do. If that's all you think we should do, I don't see the point in making this topic go any further.

Haha, and age doesn't matter at all.. I guess whether or not you're mature somewhat matters. I'm 14, and yeah.

Nooo, people just have their own opinions. It's not bad if someone disagrees with you. It has nothing to do with your age.

cB isn't a perfect place.. We do have some rude members but theres nothing you can do about it.. All you can do about it is ignore it and move on and like what other people said it may seem like people are being rude but for them it may be sarcasm and it may be their own opinion.. and mods do try to prevent people from making nasty comments. happy.gif

and I'm 13.. doesn't really matter about your age. happy.gif

dude.

ok, if you go to school and someone says something like "shut up"..is ANYONE gonna do anything about it? people say rude things all the time. it's not like cb is gonna be heaven. these are people, just like any other people. people are mean sometimes. it's a part of life. i rarely even see anyone on cb being really mean anyway..and those that seem to be really mean..are all the time. believe it or not, they do get warned. it is not our job to create a pristine perfect society for you. if all you members don't like people being mean, then it's your job to not be mean. make an example for others to follow.

it's not that you didn't agree. it's that you insulted us and our decision making skills and wouldn't let it go that all of us didn't think the same as you. it's fine if you don't agree, but respectfully.

There are SO MANY MEMBERS. Sometimes, we can't always catch it if a member is making rude replies. So if that ever happens, report the post..or just PM a mod. Then we have an idea of what;s going on. We can PM them. And if they continue, warn or suspend them. Problem solved.

it comes back to respect again... surely rudeness is just a form of disrespect? and you tell whatsherface to get over it, but you cant take it...

also, i never personally insulted a mod (that i could find, i just reread it, dmittedly hurriedly (sp?). and again, i dont see how questioning someone's decision making skills is disrespectful particularly. if you feel that someone has made a poor decision, and numerous people aree with you, what is wrong with telling the person?

surely its better than just bitching and moaning behind their backs?

oh yes, you were not disrespectful AT ALL.

there is a HUGE difference between telling us you don't like the staff's decision and whining about it and carrying it on because you didn't get your way.

but yeah. roxy has said it wont happen, because it infringes the rules, and admin (congrats, btw) her decision is more or less final.

so now, when you do agree with a staff's decision, that's when it goes?

yes james, you were disrespectful. you were acting quite immature about the situation. i was fine that you were rude. i'm over the fact that you disrespected the entire staff. the fact that you would leave because the staff didn't agree with one of your suggestions and that you carried it on and on even though the decision was made and it was over is what i got ticked about. you keep saying you did nothing wrong, and really, stating your opinion about a matter is fine. but there were many different, much better ways you could have handled that.

Er, kids? The matter has passed for a while now, lets just drop it. If you can't be happy in each other's presence, then at least be tolerable. Again, the whole thing is over an done with why bring it up again? * ermm.gif at James*

Well, there are always going to be rude people here. Mods also have a life too, and they aren't going to be here all the time. I think all we have to do is ignore the comment and not take it personally. I mean c'mon, you most likely don't even know the person, so I don't see why it should offend you so much.

I think you may just have to tough it up a lil. I mean, it's human nature not to be so nice all the time and I guess at times, be blunt. Perhaps they're just being sarcastic or you may have interpreted them wrong. It may be hurtful, but just keep in mind that it is just the internet, don't let it get to you too much. We mods do try our best to regulate and make sure that people are keeping things peaceful and appropriate but we can only do so much. Plus, its not really against the rules to be rude, but it is to member bash. So as long as the member is not bashing you, then there's really nothing we can do or say to the person to appease things.

wasnt it you who went on and on and on and on and on and on about me having to shut up when an admin said something? now you seem to bechalenging me ove rit... make up your mind, dearest

also:

the first one isnt really rude... you were getting into a snit (which could easily have been said offensively)

the second one wasnt rude when put into context, it just seems exagerated there

ok, i see you're point about the third one

again, i dont think the fourth one was all that rude when put in context

the fifth one isnt rude at all. its a rational statement based on what i'd seen in that thread

also, its not entirely true that the staff didnt agree with me, rachel and i think someone else (but im not sure) did

---

also, changing tack slightly, you told me off for questioning the admins/mods decision making skills. what was it exactly when you said that no one should endorse me, when mods already had? just a thought...
