I love Pho. Who don't? If we're Vietnamese we should love it. The down side, don't eat it all the time, because it may not be too healthy. LOL, I don't know what else to said.

How can you get tired of pho!? It's so good. I bet if you had a bowl of it right now, you'd enjoy it. I like that leafy stuff if you're talking about basil or mint. Yum yum. Maximizes your pho eating experience! biggrin.gif

You could try Pho Ga - if you like chicken and noodles.
You could also sample the Pho Bo - beef and noodles.

Might I remind all you Viet illiterates, Ga is pronounced Gah and Bo is pronounced Baw. So don't go ordering "Fo Gaw" or "Fo Bo". And pho is pronounced fuh.
I went to a pho restaraunt with one of my friends and she ordered "bun". The waiter was like, "What the pho?"

And bun is pronounced boon.

You probably have figured all that out by now, but I just felt like giving you your Vietnamese lesson for the day. wink.gif

Yeah Pho is so popular, when i went to california you would see Pho restaurants everywhere and collge/university students would always be there due to how delicious and the low expense it is. The servings are so huge! too!
i could go for a good beef or chicken bowl right now and a bubble tea... *simmer.

mystic shadow- its a vietnamese soup that has much noodles/ some kinda meat/ bean sprouts and other vegetables.

I HATEHATEHATE PHO.
It is the one thing that I'm REALLY sick of.
My parents came from Vietnam, so they eat it regularly.
Which is why I hate it.
I really don't get how people can like that stuff.

I adore pho...but yea a lot of places use a lot of MSG, and it's basically all starches, and some meat. Not much vegetables, and not so fitting to the late fad, 'atkin's diet'

i go to this one called pho real. no matter which pho restaurant i go to, i order the same thing, meatballs with extra cilantro. i take a while to eat because i don't just slurp my noodles. i place the noodles + soup in the chinese spoon, then i use the chopsticks to dip oyster mixed with rooster sauce in the noodles. hahah i don't put any sauces in the soup either

But make sure it's a good place. NYC ones are actually exceptional. Many of my father's friends rave about NYC pho.

I loveeee pho so much.

I also recently got addicted to Bun - the noodles with spring rolls and grilled pork chops and the Viet sauce thing. Yum.

I like Pho. I've only had them at the stores. I like the one with the noodles and there's meat on top of it but it's not really cooked, but it gets cooked in the hot soup while you're eating it. I usually only finish the noodles and give the meat to someone else.

Make it yourself! I really want to try this recipe.

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Beef-Pho/Detail.aspx

I think pho is pronounced 'fuh' or something like it.

I had pho like yesterday. So good even though I couldn't add as much sriracha hot sauce as I wanted to. I love adding a ton of it to the soup, even though some purists say it ruins the broth.

I want Bun now. Bun with spring rolls and grilled pork. Vietnamese grilled pork is so addictively, finger lickingly good.

BUMP BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME. #16 (usually meatballs) with extra extra cilantro prz, and a small plate on the side for hoisin and sriracha sauce because i don't like messing up the soup.

Phở is a traditional Vietnamese thinly sliced meat and rice-noodle soup dish.

it might be acquired taste, but i grew up on this. it's not only my american friends that dislike it, as you can see, asians (tung) hate it too. it can't go wrong in my book because i love soup, noodles, and cilantro.

if you are feeling adventurous, i suggest you try vietnamese coffee w/ condensed milk and summer/spring rolls.

^^I'm 100% Chinese. The only reason why I like it is because my dad went out one day and got it. My dad, my sister, and I LOVE this stuff. At our worse, we had it like 3 times in one week. We use to have it once it week. =9

I really want to go to Vietnam and see what authentic authentic Pho taste like. I saw a tour on Vietnam on TV and the noodles like a lot wider and heavier. I mean, the best I've tasted is in New York but I might be biased cause I think NY has great food.

That looks REALLY good. I rice and pasta. The Summer Spring Rolls look really good too. I'm hungry but tired of the same boring crap. When I get some money I'm going to try something new. Know anywhere I can get some recipes for the items you have shown me here?
THANKS!

I love noodles, soup, beef, but HATEHATEHATE cilantro, the flavour absolutely disgusts me. I am so not a fussy herbs girl. Seriously. When they give me all that lemon, leafy crap and bean sprouts I don't put any of that it, wtf. I certainly don't have a sophisticated palate but the less ingredients to me = better.

it no longer takes 15 minutes to reach the closest pho restaurant. one restaurant is five minutes away and it's called pho real.

i like basil leaves, but not as much as cilantro and spring onions. i put in lime randomly but i usually prefer plain soup taste, meaning no sriracha or hoisin sauce in the soup.

Can't help it if my palate is more suited to Southern Chinese food shrug.gif That's why I don't love Vietnamese food, but I like pho because I can get rid of the extraneous crap.

There was actually a place that I went to all the time that was called Pho King. It was hilarious. I can't get really good pho here in NYC though, I can't seem to find it.

LIES. But I've never had authentic Pho so I really can't know what is good to a Viet palate. But I can recommend one on Ave U in Brooklyn. I haven't found ones that suit my taste in Ctown or Flushing. But my Viet friend eats at the one I do and she says its pretty good.

dude I LOVE LOVE LOVE bun bo hue. The downside is that I dislike those blood cubes. I think they're pig's blood? Ew those taste nasty in my bun bo hue. :[
